Business & Industry Center

Cayuga Community College's Business & Industry Center (BIC) provides comprehensive services to Cayuga-Oswego-Seneca Counties. These include: gap analysis, strategic planning assistance and assessment of company training needs; custom-designed training programs and seminars; national teleconferences; and credit coursework. Cayuga is currently assisting area companies in developing in-house associate degree programs for employees. More than 30,000 area employees have participated in skill upgrading training since the Business & Industry Center was established in 1985.

As a member of the State University of New York network of Business and Industry Centers, Cayuga has access to extensive educational resources to meet company training needs. Our programs can introduce employees to new technologies, upgrade existing skills, or bring about cultural changes throughout your company. Area employers utilize BIC training to become High Performance Work Organizations (HPWO), to become world class competitors, to increase productivity, to improve employee morale, to provide access to degree programs, and to ensure survival in today's global marketplace.

Cayuga's Business & Industry Center can work with you to develop cost effective training programs to meet your specific training needs. Training may take place in the BIC or at your company work site at times that are mutually convenient. The Center also maintains an extensive video library and has staff available to assist companies in developing their own videotapes for training purposes. Cayuga's BIC has secured more than $5.5 million in state and federal training grants for area companies. We will work with your company to develop appropriate training programs and assist in securing necessary funding.

Contact Carla DeShaw, BIC director, at 315-255-1743 x2228 for more information about our training modules.
