For students looking to a future in business or accounting, Cayuga offers three degree programs, each with a distinct focus:
- The Business Administration A.S. degree prepares you for transfer to a four-year business program.
- The Business Administration A.A.S. degree provides more concentrated business courses to move directly into a job or promotion.
- The Accounting A.A.S. degree provides up-to-date training in the dynamic field of accounting, preparing you either for an entry-level accounting position or for transfer to a four-year college to continue your studies toward a career as a Certified Public Accountant.
Cayuga Success Stories
“There is no other school I could have attended that could have provided the wonderfully positive experience that I enjoyed. I came to Cayuga as a non-traditional student. I was nervous and unsure in taking such a big step at my age, as I had not attended school in over 30 years. My decision to enter Cayuga's Accounting Program put me in the care of a group of instructors whose professionalism, consideration and encouragement gave me all the self-confidence I needed to succeed. I felt that my instructors truly cared about my progress. As an adult student, I could appreciate the amount of time and attention that went into the preparation of lectures and class work. I recognized that my professors were working harder than I was. This program is designed for the success of its students. The instructors are knowledgeable, patient, compassionate and kind. I would suggest Cayuga's accounting program to anyone who is considering a career in Accounting.” — Linda Campbell Hetherington '09
“Cayuga's accounting program prepared me for the challenges of a four-year degree and beyond. I have earned my bachelor's degree and am currently working towards my MBA at Empire State College. The dedicated accounting professors gave me the foundation to excel not only at Cayuga but beyond. While at Cayuga I felt as if I was part of an extended family.” — Dennis Collins '05
“As a non-traditional student, I chose Cayuga Community College to pursue my accounting degree and it turned out to be the best decision I ever made. From the first accounting class to the last, the professors were there every step of the way for me. They love teaching and made me successful in the program. After graduation I was offered a full-time accounting position with a local CPA. I know this was possible through my education at Cayuga.” — Joelle McLaughlin '08
“Professors Shinal and Matijas helped me fall in love with accounting. Cayuga also allowed students to participate in various venues to showcase the many different careers an accounting degree could offer. Round-table discussions, banquets/dinners and tax assistance are a few examples. While working on my degree, I got a promotion into the accounting department where I work.” — Francis Acker '08
